How We Help
What You Can Expect:
Kindness, Respect & Understanding
Whether you’re near Murray, Mayfield or Paducah, we have mental health services available to you! We’re here to help you find the help you need, whatever that might look like.
At Emerald, you are in control of the therapy services you receive. We’re just here to be your guide to seeking out and living your best days. When you call or fill out our form online, we’ll walk you through some details and then schedule your first appointment.
This first appointment will be pretty informal with an Emerald mental health professional. We’ll go over the reason you’re looking to improve your mental health and make sure all of your paperwork is filled out and insurance information is updated. This first appointment gives us the background information we need to pair you with the best therapist for your needs. Before you leave, we’ll discuss next steps and what therapy will look like moving forward.
They are a wonderful bunch. When they talked to me, there was no judgment from any one of them, I was with the Murray group and I will and do recommend them to everyone.
– Dawn
This is the first time I have ever actually looked forward to therapy. She has created a treatment plan specifically catered to what works for me, and every session seems like a LEAP forward. I am so so so thankful to have someone so dedicated to my progress, if not more than myself sometimes. – Ginger

Psychiatry
In November 2022, Dr. Laurie Ballew, psychiatrist and addictionologist, joined the Emerald family along with her practice Holistic Psychiatry and Healthcare. As Medical Director over Emerald Therapy, she brings her holistic approach to mental health treatment. “We’re helping you be you. If you can be you then you really will have your best days ahead,” Dr. Ballew says.
What does this mean? It means medicine may not always be the first or only treatment. Dr. Ballew brought TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) technology to Paducah for the first time, a non-medicated treatment for OCD and Major Depression. Across the Emerald Therapy Center healthcare group, our staff works together to build a treatment plan of medical, clinical and non-clinical services to aid our clients.
IOP Programs
We are an intensive outpatient facility for Substance Use Disorder and also Behavioral Health. We offer IOP programs in Paducah, Mayfield and Murray, Kentucky. These are group programs where they’ll set goals and work to meet them throughout the program. They’ll learn healthier behaviors, coping skills and disease management skills.
Targeted Case Management
For our Medicaid clients and also those attending our IOPs, we’re able to offer TCM. It’s not therapy but it is a way for these clients to receive additional support and resources. Think of it as your support team to practice what you’re learning in therapy. It can also be your personal connection to other resources you need within our community.
