From the Green Velvet Couch: Navigating a Crisis
By: Shelly Baer, LCSW
A global crisis like the current COVID 19 can create and trigger fear anxiety like no other event. It’s helpful to remember that healthy people continue to use the same ways to manage and cope. We can remind ourselves daily that life is about navigating. We can’t prevent bad things from happening, it’s how we navigate those events. Right now is the time to look at how to improve your emotional health, physical, health, and maintain your financial health. Now is the time to make the changes you have been wanting to and reconnect with nature. To remember to laugh and celebrate the daily victories. Improve your gratitude during this time. Also remember to look forward and know that this is just a season that will end.
